Simba to camp in South Africa

After hectic general elections that successfully ended last week in Dar es Salaam, Mainland premiership stalwarts Simba Sports Club intend to open a training camp in South Africa, the club’s secretary general Ezekiel Kamwaga confirmed yesterday.
The team is bound to miss some of its top players who are in the Taifa Stars camp gearing p for the AfricanNations Cup playoff qualifier first leg tie against Mozambique to be played in Dar es Salaam next week.
Players who are bound to miss the trip and camp include Ramadhan Singano, Amri Kiemba, Jonas Mkude, Joram Mgeveke and Haroun Chanongo.
Players lined up for the trip will be known later ahead of boarding the flight on July 20 for the 17-day camping.
It was not immediately clear where exactly the team will be based during its training camp in South Africa.
Before travelling to South Africa, Simba embark on training at their ground on Bunju as players have been told to converge today.
The team will be under the tutelage of stand in coach Selemani Matola while waiting for the head coach Zdravko Logarusic who is expected to join them on Friday. Logarusic is expected to land in Dar es Salaam tomorrow for the training task.
Kamwaga said all players have been informed to attend the training sessions at Bunju ahead of the new premiership season that kicks off on August 24.
Simba has been crisis ridden for almost two past seasons until the former office bearers ended their tenure last week The crisis led to the team’s poor performance as it ended the premiership season fourth overall behind newly promoted Mbeya City.
